Still Serving Veterans is enrolled in Kroger’s Community Rewards program. The program gives rebates to SSV whenever a customer shops at Kroger with their Kroger Plus Card! All you have to do is register your Kroger Plus Card online and choose Still Serving Veterans as your preferred nonprofit. It’s a great, easy way to support Veterans and their families in Alabama.

Below are instructions on how to participate:
- Go to https://customer.kroger.com/communityrewards.aspx
- Be sure to have your Kroger Plus card handy and register your card with your organization after you sign up.
- Do you use your phone number at the register? This is your Alt ID
- If you do not yet have a Kroger Plus card, the site offers an option to create one during the registration process
- Click on Sign In if you are already registered or Create An Account if you are new to the site
- Enter your email address and create a password, then enter your zip code to select your favorite Kroger store location
- You will then get a message to check your email inbox and click on the link within the body of the email.
- Click on My Account and use your email address and password to proceed to the next step.
- Click on Edit Kroger Community Rewards information and input your Kroger Plus card number.
- Update or confirm your information.
- Enter NPO number or name of organization, select organization from list and click on confirm.
- To verify you are enrolled correctly, you will see your organization’s name on the right side of your information page.
- Members must swipe their registered Kroger Plus card or use the phone number that is related to their registered Kroger Plus card when shopping for each purchase to count.

October 6, 2014 marks the date for Still Serving Veterans’ 9th Annual Golf Tournament. This four person scramble tournament will be hosted at Cherokee Ridge, a beautiful golf community nestled in the serene landscape of Union Grove, Alabama. Proceeds will go toward supporting the many programs and services Still Serving Veterans offers to the Veteran community.
The cost for this event is $150.00. This price includes breakfast, lunch, green and cart fees, participation in the tournament, and participation in other competitions such as Men’s Longest Drive, Women’s Longest Drive, Hole-in-One, Closest to the Pin, and more.

Madison-based Blue Pants Brewery is hosting a “We Care Wednesday” that will support Still Serving Veterans on June 11. The event will run from 3pm to 10pm and will feature live music from local artist Robby Eichman. A food truck will also be present. $1 of every purchase made during the event will be donated to Still Serving Veterans to support their mission: assisting Veterans and their families find jobs, receive their benefits, and find resources within their community to meet all needs.
Blue Pants’ brewers started out as homebrewers, playing with ingredients, and learning which tastes they love. They use their skills and creativity to create unique, or just exemplary beers, that may not fit any particular style category but are always good. Brews currently available are:

Performer Robby Eichman plays sunny Rock and Roll by employing the use of loop pedals, guitar, tambourine, and harmonica. He plays a mix of covers and originals. Robby was also named one of the top three vocalists in the Tennessee Valley. He wears his catchy influences on his sleeve and plays catchy music, which has proven to charm crowds into staying for “just one more song” until last call time and time again.

Visit the U.S. Space & Rocket Center every Thursday from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. through October 30, 2014, for the German Biergarten, featuring authentic German cuisine crafted by renowned chef David Oreskovich.
To support our local community, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center is featuring a nonprofit organization each week, and 10 percent of food sales that evening will be donated to the organization. On July 17, 2014, join us for Still Serving Veterans Night!

Rocket City United, a local soccer team, is hosting a Military Night on June 7. Attendees with a military I.D. will receive 4 free tickets and the 1st 500 fans to arrive will get complimentary bumper stickers. Plus, Rocket City United will be donating a portion of proceeds to Still Serving Veterans. The team will be playing against Chattanooga FC at John Hunt Park – kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm.
Rocket City United is the top Alabama soccer team playing in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) at John Hunt Park (Field #2). Rocket City United (RCU) was incorporated in 2007 and began playing in 2008 in the NPSL. Playing in the South Region, RCU competes in the Southeast Conference against teams from Atlanta, Chattanooga, Conyers (GA), Knoxville, Nashville, New Orleans, and Pensacola.
The National Premier Soccer League operates in the 4th Division of the United States Soccer pyramid. The NPSL is the fastest growing national soccer league in the United States, operating in over 80+ markets across the USA, from Maine to Washington state.

Swing “Fore” Children with Cancer is an annual father-child/grandfather-grandchild golf tournament that increases awareness about the Crim Fund and raises funds to support the Pediatric Oncology program at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children. Proceeds will provide games, toys, and financial support for pediatric cancer patients and their families as well as college scholarships for children who have completed their treatment.
Dr. Crim called SSV to offer a spot to play in the tournament to two Veterans and their child or grandchild. If you are a Veteran interested in playing please contact Shannon Drake through email (email@example.com) or by phone (256.883.7035).

About the Tournament
Format: Two person best ball
Tournament Fee: $300 per 2-person team – includes lunch, awards dinner, snack bag, player gift, and 2 rounds of golf for each player (practice round and tournament play)
- Father-Daughter or Grandfather-Granddaughter teams
- Father-Son/Grandfather-Grandson teams
- Child must be 10 years of age or older & able to play golf
- Children are divided into age divisions:
- 10 yo – 14 yo
- 15 yo – 17 yo
- 18 yo +
- All players must have golf handicap
About the Fund
The Dr. Frank Crim Compassion Fund for Children with Cancer was established by Betty and Philip Bentley in honor of their dear friend. The purpose of the fund is to provide for the special needs of local children and families of children with cancer and blood disorders. These patients are treated at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children.
