8th Annual Golf Tournament Supports Veterans & Their Families

Huntsville, Alabama – Local non-profit is holding their annual fall golf tournament to seek funding for the much needed programs and services offered to Veterans and their families.

Still Serving Veterans (SSV) is revving up for their 8th Annual Golf Tournament designed to raise awareness of the hardships Veterans and their families face during transition, as well as to generate funds to support the programs and services SSV provides to all Veterans and their loved ones at no charge to them.

This four person golf scramble will take place on October 7th, 2013 at Cherokee Ridge, a beautiful golf community nestled in the serene landscape of Union Grove, AL. The player fees are $150 per player and include breakfast and lunch, green and cart fees, participation in the tournament, and participation in some other competitions like “Beat the Pro,” “Longest Drive,” “Hole-in-One,” and more. There are also opportunities for sponsorships which range from $250-$5,000 with varying benefits. Follow this link to see all the different sponsorship levels: http://www.stillservingveterans.org/ssvs_8th_annual_golf_tournament.aspx

If you aren’t a golfer but would like to help support the event, there are options for you, too! Become a sponsor of a team of Veterans or advertise your business at one of the golf holes through a hole sponsorship.

From the profit of this event, 86 cents of every dollar goes directly towards supporting the programs and services SSV offers their clients. This includes empowering Veterans and their families to transition into post-military careers and communities through outreach and education, assistance in obtaining all VA Benefits, training for meaningful new careers, individual advocacy and case management support, community partnerships with Veteran Service Organizations for quality referrals, and long-term career development and employment placement.

President of SSV, Will Webb, says, “Our hero Veterans have done noble things in treacherous places on our behalf, so we owe them the best we can give them for their selfless sacrifices.  The support of patriotic, giving partners allows SSV to serve and lift up more Veterans and their family members. Funds from this golf tournament will directly support empowering Veterans.”
